How many times have you heard that through prayer you can achieve anything? If someone said to you… “if you pray for 40 days you can stop abortion” …would you do it? That’s exactly what we plan to do...

From Wednesday 27th September to Sunday 5th November 2017, Precious Life has organised the 40 Days for Life Campaign, uniting with hundreds of communities in the UK, USA, Canada, Europe, Africa, and Australia, for an end to abortion though 40 days of prayer and fasting, prayer vigils, and community outreach.

I’m really excited about the campaign and I hope you will be too. As you know, prayer is one of the most powerful tools that God has given us. Just think of what we will accomplish when we all unite together for 40 days of prayer, pulling out all the stops to end the violence of abortion. As Jesus tells us, some evil can only be driven out by prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29). Think of how many mothers and their unborn babies will be saved through this powerful campaign.

During the 40 Days, I urge you to pray and fast for :

 •       the protection of Ireland - North and South - from all attempts to legalise abortion;

            - the defeat of David Ford’s ‘Abortion Bill’ in the Northern Ireland Assembly

            - saving the 8th Amendment of the Irish Constitution

 •       the repeal of the 1967 Abortion Act in Britain;

 •       the healing of women and men who carry the pain of a past abortion experience;

 •       the conversion of all those who are involved in the abortion industry;

 •       pro-life revival and renewal in our churches;

 •       repentance and healing throughout our land.

During the 40 day Campaign, we will be encouraging more people to come out and join us at our Prayer Vigils outside abortion agencies in Belfast at the following times:

As part of the Community Outreach component of the campaign, we are urging people to distribute our “Lobby for Life” leaflets in their communities. We are also encouraging more young people to take the pro-life message directly to the public by joining us at our Youth For Life - Street Outreach every Saturday in towns across Northern Ireland

I encourage you to commit yourself to the 40 Days for Life Campaign. I also ask you to encourage your family, friends, churches and prayer groups to get involved in this most urgent campaign.

I fully understand that some people are just unable to get out onto the streets to do pro-life work. If you are physically unable to join us, I urge you to spiritually unite with us in prayer.

It’s a heart-breaking reality that 50 million babies are killed by abortion throughout the world every year. You can make a life-saving impact - right where you live - and help bring an end to the tragedy of abortion. I pray this Campaign will mark the beginning of the end of the “culture of death” and the spreading of  the “culture of life”around the world.
