123,219 babies killed by abortion in England and Wales
Precious Life has condemned the Westminster Government for presiding over and facilitating the killing of 123,219 babies.
The damning indictment follows the publication of the latest abortion statistics for England and Wales, which show the number of abortions have reached new all-time highs since records began.
123,219 little babies were killed by abortion between January-June 2022.
That’s almost 680 babies killed EVERY DAY!
Every HOUR 28 babies were killed
Every TWO MINUTES a baby was being killed.
1,428 of these babies were killed because they may have been disabled. The disabilities include Down’s syndrome or even conditions that are easily treated, like cleft lip or palate. The NHS website states, "The majority of children treated for cleft lip or palate grow up to have completely normal lives." Yet the same NHS kills babies with these conditions.
161 women had serious complications from the abortions, including haemorrhage, uterine perforation, sepsis and/or ripping of the cervix.
The statistics also reveal that 96 babies with mothers from Northern Ireland were killed.
85 babies with mothers from the Republic of Ireland were killed.
Director of Precious Life, Bernadette Smyth said, “One death by abortion is one too many, but 123,219 murdered babies in 6 months is truly shocking.
The Westminster Government have presided over the killing of these 123,219 babies. And they want more dead babies with the 'Section 9' abortion legislation they forced on Northern Ireland.
It's time to stop the killing! The UK's Abortion Act must be completely overturned and new legislation introduced to protect precious babies from the moment of conception. And in Northern Ireland, Section 9 must be repealed and replaced with legislation to restore personhood and full legal protection for babies in the womb.
Every child deserves to be protected from the barbaric practice of abortion and every woman in an unexpected pregnancy deserves genuine life-affirming healthcare.
