Precious Life have published a new leaflet urging parents to oppose the Government’s compulsory promotion of abortion to school children in Northern Ireland.

The UK Government has issued new requirements for Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE) that will force all post-primary schools in Northern Ireland to teach children how to “access abortion”; and teach them that killing babies in the womb is a “legal right”. Giving pupils any pro-life views that oppose abortion will not be allowed.

The leaflet tells parents their rights as first educators of their children, and encourages them to contact the School Principal, Teachers, Board of Governors, MLAs & MPs, and Church Leaders to make a stand and oppose the forced RSE regulations.

The leaflets also provides a link to the Department of Education's Consultation on the regulations.

The Consultation is open the public, so whether you are a parent, grandparent, teacher, or just a member of the public who wants children protected from abortion, please respond by 24th November. 

The Consultation consists of 4 statements. You are asked to indicate if you agree, disagree, or neither agree or disagree with the Statements. You can also add any "additional comments" you wish to provide in more detail.
    However, the statements are deceptively worded and full of presuppositions that what will be taught to children is “factual, age appropriate, and scientifically accurate.” Parents cannot trust any teaching resources to be factual, age appropriate, or scientifically accurate when they come from a Government that says killing babies is a "legal right".

The new leaflet is a project of our REPEAL SECTION 9 Campaign. The leaflet explains that the UK Government used Section 9 of the NI Executive Formation Act to force abortion on Northern Ireland.  Now the powers the Government gave itself through Section 9 are being used to force pro-abortion propaganda on our school children. Ultimately we are calling for Section 9 to be repealed in its entirety.
