Hundreds of pairs of baby shoes convey tragic loss of life brought about by Westminster's unjust Abortion Law says Smyth
The event marked the second anniversary when Westminster stepped in and passed an amendment in a cunning display before an empty chamber in the dead of night, unjustly overriding the Northern Ireland Assembly to legalise abortion – on 21st October 2019.
Since then over 1556 babies have been killed by abortion.
Head of Precious Life, Bernadette Smyth addressed the hundreds of people who had earlier formed a huge circle around the City Hall to remember the children who were brutally killed by abortion.
She said: “Each pair of baby shoes represented an innocent life cruelly taken by the injustice of the abortion legislation forced on Northern Ireland by the British Government.
"Every child deserves a chance to take their first steps," she told hundreds of those who had gathered to show their opposition to Section 9 of NI Executive Formation Act.
She added: “Every child deserves to wear their first pair of shoes and every child deserves a BIRTH day too.
"Our unborn children must be protected in law, policy and practice. We are calling on our elected MLA’s to repeal Section 9 and restore the humanity of each and every child in the womb.”
"This Life Chain event has sent out a clear message to the Northern Ireland Assembly - Repeal Section 9 and Restore Personhood to every child before birth."
She concluded: "Our Repeal Section 9 Campaign will continue until every unborn child is once again legally protected in Northern Ireland."
