Stand Up for Life, Liberty and Faith
Free speech is under attack, with Pro-life Groups and Christians targeted.
Draconian bye-laws proposed by the Belfast Council will:
• Allow the Council to fine pro-life groups and street preachers up to £1,500
• Ban the display of images used by pro-life groups on posters and banners, etc
• Censor pro-life leaflets by requiring them to be sealed in "warning" envelopes
• Impose a 70-decibel sound limit which will severely restrict public speaking, preaching, or prayer in the city centre
• Require pro-life groups, street preachers and others to comply with the Council's “Code of Conduct,” which could potentially be used to limit what messages may be expressed in public
TAKE ACTION
Contact the Minister for Communities, Mr. Gordon Lyons MLA and urge him to reject these draconian bye-ways and uphold the rights to freedom of speech and expression, and the religious liberties of everyone in the community.
