STANTON HEALTHCARE

As part of a pro-life activism day in Derry on Saturday 5th September, the first public meeting on Stanton Healthcare was held in the City Hotel, Derry. Stanton Healthcare will offer life-affirming options and resources to women faced with unexpected pregnancies and all services will be provided at no cost. The centre is set to open in Belfast in October, followed by a satellite centre opening in Derry next year.

Caitriona Forde shared ‘the Stanton Vision’ at the meeting:

“Stanton Healthcare is here to close the door of the Marie Stopes centre in Belfast by making Stanton Healthcare the right choice for women.”

Pat Ramsey MLA (SDLP) attended the meeting to show his support for Stanton Healthcare and Bernadette Smyth, the director of Precious Life, was delighted at the tremendous turnout for the meeting:

“Stanton Healthcare will shine like a beacon of hope for mothers and their unborn children and Precious Life will be behind them every step of the way. I encourage everyone to support the Stanton initiative. If everyone did their part, whether that be a little donation every month or volunteering an hour or two of their time, we could all help make the Stanton Vision a reality.”

For further information on the opening of Stanton Healthcare and fundraising events please contact Caitriona Forde on contact@stantonbelfast.org.

YOUTH FOR LIFE NI

On the same day, members of Youth for Life NI travelled to Derry to meet an enthusiastic group of young people from England and the United States who were living in the city as part of their Youth Ministry and who were very keen to join Youth for Life NI in their pro-life activism! They set up a table and information display and interacted with members of the public, distributed hundreds of information leaflets, and collected petition signatures in support of the “Stop Marie Stopes Campaign”.

Rachael McEvoy, a co-coordinator of Youth for Life NI, reported on the day’s events:

“By bringing our street session to Derry, we were able to change hearts and minds and help more people to see the reality of abortion.”

Please help Youth for Life NI change more hearts and minds by encouraging more young people you may know to get involved in their street sessions in both Belfast and Derry! Contact 028 9027 8484 or email info@preciouslife.com.
