Bernadette Smyth tells the Rally for Life that the Irish people will choose life
March the 10th 2018 will go down as one of the most uplifting, powerful, and memorable days in the history of the Irish pro-life movement. At least 100,000 people lined the streets of Dublin in what can only be described as a breathtaking, vividly colourful and explosive celebration of life.
Bernadette Smyth of Precious Life was amongst a line-up of speakers who addressed the people as the 100,000 strong rally made it's way to Merrion Square. She spoke of the choice that been given to the Irish people and called on the crowds to recognise the choice, quoting Deuteronomy 30:19
"Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live."
She told the massive crowd, "Today we choose life. Today, we join people power to God's power. Today, the new civil rights movement of the 21st century is born. Today, the pro-life Revolution begins."
"A revolution that will not rest until every child threatened by abortion is protected and our laws are used to save life not end it. Decisions are made by those who turn up for the battle. Thank you for turning up to do battle for the little ones."
"Today I say it loud and clear that we must declare that God is bigger than the battle we fight," Bernadette told the crowds assembled.
"For many of us here today it is our faith that sustains us and keeps us strong. She reminded the crowd that in Oct 2008 the Westminster government had planned to extent the 1967 evil abortion act, an act that has brutally taken the lives of nearly 9 million little children,"
At that time, abortion was literally staring us right in the face. In fact the media and their pro abortion cohorts boasted that abortion would be legalised that very year. But because we stood up and said no and because we prayed!! The threat was miraculously averted. We must always remember with God on our side we will always have victory."
