Stand up for LIFE and against UK and Irish Pro-Abortion MPs by taking a stand TODAY
Precious Life has condemned the politicians who signed a letter calling on the UK government to legalise the killing of Northern Ireland’s unborn babies. This is a shocking and outrageous attack on Northern Ireland’s unborn babies and the peace process
The letter to Prime Minister Theresa May and her Irish counterpart Leo Varadkar was coordinated by Labour MP Stella Creasy, in collusion with abortion organisations BPAS, FPA, and Amnesty; and signed by politicians in the UK and Ireland.
Northern Ireland is now the only part of the UK and Ireland where unborn children are protected in law. But these pro-abortion politicians want to decriminalise abortion here by removing Sections 58 and 59 of the ‘Offences Against The Person Act’. This is totally shocking and extreme beyond words. To repeal Sections 58 and 59 would remove all safeguards for pregnant women, leaving them and their unborn children with no legal protection at all throughout the whole nine months of pregnancy. This move would be disastrous for the health and wellbeing of the women in Northern Ireland.
This is a clear attack on Northern Ireland’s democratic process – it’s totally outrageous and demonstrates a shocking level of utter contempt for democracy. In 2016, the Northern Ireland Assembly voted against any change in the laws, so this must be respected. We are calling on the people of Northern Ireland to contact Theresa May and Leo Varadkar, and also lobby their MLAs and MPs at this critical time, urging them to ensure that unborn children and their mothers continue to be protected, and that the democratic process here is respected.
It is also abhorrent that these pro-abortionists are attempting to use the Good Friday Agreement to legalise the killing of our children. Meddling with the Agreement could undermine and endanger the peace process here. The spirit of the Good Friday agreement was all about respecting devolution, and was founded on the principles of full respect for and equality of all rights, and of freedom from discrimination for all people in Northern Ireland. Our unborn children must never be discriminated against. Their most fundamental right – the right to life – must always be respected and upheld.
Ironically these pro-abortionists are right when they say “this isn't an issue of politics; it's an issue of human rights.” The right to life of every human being – born and unborn – is the most fundamental right of all. Without it –all other rights are meaningless The right to life of every human being – born and unborn – is the most fundamental right of all. Without it –all other rights are meaningless
The pro-life people of Ireland are galled by the hypocrisy of Sinn Fein leaders - Mary Lou McDonald and Michelle O'Neill - who refuse to take their seats beside these British MPs in Westminster, yet are happy to sign letters with them calling for the killing of Ireland’s unborn children.
Treacherously, the letter was also signed by Colum Eastwood, leader of the SDLP, who in May of this year dropped their long standing pro-life position.
Naomi Long of the Alliance Party and Green Party MLA Steven Agnew also signed.
The depths that pro-abortionist Stella Creasy is prepared to stoop was exposed when Lord Ken Maginnis, an Independent Ulster Unionist and former Ulster Unionist MP, revealed they his name was “improperly included” in the letter. Mr Maginnis said he was “horrified” to find his name was used, and added, “I made it very plain to Ms Creasy that I wanted nothing to do with it.”
Northern Ireland’s laws are progressive, modern and compassionate precisely because they recognise the scientific certainty that the preborn baby is a human being, and acknowledge the mounting evidence that abortion hurts women. There is an unbreakable determination from the pro-life people of Northern Ireland to protect our unborn children. Our voices must grow louder and stronger. We do not want the children of Northern Ireland to be the collateral damage of Stella Creasy’s need to kill unborn babies. We will not accept unborn children being sacrificed in the name of “choice. Women in Northern Ireland deserve better than abortion. We must continue our campaigns and lobbying to ensure that abortion remains not only illegal, but unthinkable.
