Ireland needs a massive revolution of prayer and sacrifice !
The island of Ireland is facing one of its darkest hours
- Northern Ireland Justice Minster David Ford has announced plans to change the abortion law to allow the killing of special-needs babies;
- The Marie Stopes ‘abortion centre’ in Northern Ireland is still threatening to illegally kill unborn babies;
- the Irish government has legalised abortion in the Republic of Ireland;
- and the miscarriage of justice against Bernadette Smyth.
At this time, we need a massive ‘revolution’ of prayer and sacrifice. This New Year (Thursday 1st January 2015) Precious Life launch 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting to protect Ireland from the scourge of abortion.
You can participate by offering your daily Mass; daily Rosary; daily Divine Mercy; daily Holy Hour; throughout the 40 days. You can fast from a favourite food. You can also join Precious Life’s Prayer Vigils outside ‘Marie Stopes’ every Thursday and Friday. Come along and pray for an hour on Thursdays between 9.00am - 6.00pm. Or join our Youth for Life Street Outreach every Saturday afternoon in Belast City Centre from 2.00pm - 4.00pm.
As Jesus tells us - some evil only can be overcome by prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21). Prayer is the sword of the spirit. The course of human events can only change by placing our hands together in prayer. We must pray if there is to be hope for the future, for the battle is not with human beings but with the spiritual powers of evil (Eph. 6:13). God used 40-day periods to transform individuals, communities, and the entire world. From Noah in the flood, to Moses on the mountain, to the disciples after Christ’s resurrection, it is clear that God sees the transformative value of His people accepting and meeting a 40‑day challenge.
