The result of Ireland's abortion referendum has no impact on the law in Northern Ireland, the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) leader has said.
Northern Ireland’s leading pro-life group Precious Life say they are “determined to keep fighting to uphold the laws in the North that protect unborn babies and their mothers from abortion.”
Director of Precious Life Bernadette Smyth said, “Ireland has had more than its fair share of tragedy, but the 'Yes to abortion' result of this referendum marks the most tragic day in Irish history.’
Northern Ireland’s leading pro-life group Precious Life has said the hypocrisy of the SDLP’s new position on abortion means the party has now committed “political suicide.”
